Our boys are almost 5 months, will they stop nipping hands soon?

lol, no I will never heard them again since I strained my knee since by the stream, there are lots of stones and heavy ever geens which I just trimmed. See Miss Lydia, we all can give each other information by being informative without being insulting and first writing a paragraph of " every thing that is wrong" instead, we can compliment each other with their accomplishment and point out positve things as you do . Then we can suggest to others what they can do better to make thiir birds healthy instead of being negative. that is why I tend to relate to you , Nan , Kangaboi and superchemicalgirl and the list can continue. Poeple like you make it worth white to visit Backyard chicken.com. Otherwise, it become stressful.

When I had ducks, I would always go out with a bowl of treats, tomatoes, grapes, watermelon, lettuces... you get the picture... I would set it down ASAP, then go about my business. I found they only nipped at me when I'd go in their pen with out a duck offering. LOL. Some times I would go in with a metal rake, just so I could make a dig spot for them to get at worms, grub, bugs... LOL. Ducks are great. I had campbells/orp crosses. Lovely girls. Rotten mess makers. HAAHAA

Nigel has decided he will be nice again, but Xerxes still nips my daughter most of the time.
Opie our drake that we raised as a duckling last year does the nipping at times mostly to my dh, when he does it to me I have various things I do sometimes I'll hold him down till he stops trying to get up and if he comes at me again I'll move him away with my foot. and sometimes I'll get him with the hose, I don't mean hit him with the hose but turn the spray on him[he doesn't like that]. I have found you just have to be persistant. Most of the time he gives up and goes about his business. Maybe get you daughter a good spary bottle or water pistol and as soon as he starts get her to blast him a few times. a water pistol would probably work better.
