My mother had a Brownie box camera. That thing took some of the best darn pictures, short of owning a professional camera. They were not overly expensive, fairly lightweight, so easy to carry around, film was very affordable, and the picture quality was great. Hers had a flash attachment. You had to buy packages of bulbs for the flash. Thanks for mentioning it, and bringing back the memories.Yesterday, Hubby's boss at work gave him something that had been his grandmother's. It was a Brownie camera! I'd never seen one before. He's wondering if he can cut down a sheet of 4x5 film to fit, just for the experience of using it.
Also yesterday, his order of darkroom stuff arrived. And a box of Ilford 4x5 B&W film. 25 sheets, $56. He's excited about making the darkroom usable, and getting out his 4x5 camera again.
My 4x5 is in a back back and may never get out again. No place for a dark room here. Think I may put it on eBay one day when I have the time.Yesterday, Hubby's boss at work gave him something that had been his grandmother's. It was a Brownie camera! I'd never seen one before.
