I wonder if she calls me CrazyNeighborLady.
Now that's a thought.
I used my little Suzuki hatchback car to haul the wood up 3 pieces at a time. There's relatively few chores around here that I love to do, splitting wood is one of them. I will fight BF for it. It's not a hard fight; he hates doing it but wants to be "manly" and do it. I've already split it since he's still at work and therefore we don't have to play that game. There were quite a few black ant nests in it (or one big nest spread out) which may explain why it came down, although the majority of the wood was thick and wet and not infested. I put the pieces with the ants on it in the biddy run thinking the guineas would make short work of it. The guineas were completely terrified of the Evil Wood covered in Evil Ants. However, I had about a half dozen chicken girls that were fighting each other over the ants and the eggs. I have never seen them eat ants before, so they must be tired of winter. The most voracious eater was my barred rock. She's about 6 years old and I've never felt a strong liking for her. If she died I wouldn't be sad. However, we bonded today over ants. She probably ate 5 pounds of ants.
Edited to add: BF has already offered to be manly and make homemade carrot cake for the neighbors as a thank you.
