Can the same chicken lay a different colored egg?

Our first egg was perfectly shaped, pale brown, with tiny red speckles, but from then on, we've gotten nearly daily a darker, uniformly colored reddish brown egg of the same shape and size as that first speckled one.

Yesterday, I got another of the pale, speckled ones. Is this the work of two chickens or merely one who's reproductive system is still trying to get sorted out and produces random differently colored eggs?

There are six girls in the coop. Here are their breeds and ages:

Golden Sexlink - 20 and 1/2 weeks
Giant Barred Cochin - 20 and 1/2 weeks
2 Ameraucanas - 20 and a 1/2 weeks
Partridge Penedesenca - 21 and 1/2 weeks
Sicilian Buttercup - 22 weeks

I wouldn't be worried about the different colored eggs. I would guess that the eggs you have had would be the work of different hens. The way to tell what chicken lays which egg is by the little flap of skin under their eye. Usually the same chicken lays roughly the same colored and size egg. I hope this helps :)
 
A couple of our chickens do this. A speckled egg, when averaged out, is the same color as an egg that is not speckled. Sometimes they're speckled, sometimes not. It's the same two chickens who are prone to this. One is an olive egger, the other some barnyard mix with a brown egg. Something about the step where the color is laid down. Imagine the color either going evenly over the whole egg, or in speckles. Sometimes the brown egg will have large patches of dark/light brown. Once there was one with a stripe around it! I save the unusual eggs and blow them out. Maybe someone with more knowledge than me can explain it.
