Post your citron - lemon - silver D'uccle projects, especially chick photos!

I know that the Citron Mille Fleur D'uccle has been slow in arriving to American shores, so I was wondering if there have been any breakthroughs on our "projects". Have some succeeding in this endeavor?

This is my endeavor:

to my Buff Silkie/gold-necked d'uccle hen



The chicks all came out similiar, all looking like blue millies, except one reg mille. Then there's that...one....silver...chick...



I would have thought that the buff hen would have added the cream gene, but maybe she's got silver in her background? Her mother was a simple buff silkie.

So this is the crew now, at about two weeks. I have recouped normal d'uccle combs, regular skin color, and vulture hocks on all except one whose lacking hocks.



Note that the silver chick has now developed a very light tan to his wings, similiar to the effect of silver on buff. Am I correct? Do I now have the silver, or the cream?



Then there's the question of why all the chick down came out looking like they were blue millies, now they are bright, light tan and very black stripes. I guess the blue never made an appearance?



So, you gold and silver experts out there, help out us newbies on what silver/gold chicks look like, and how YOUR silver/gold projects are coming along.

Any citron d'uccle breeders out there?

Apparently no one is breeding for citron in the States, or you just don't want to share, or you are just too busy....etc

Just keep posting the results and pictures 9everyone loves to see pictures. The are hits on this thread. Just obvouisly no one is breeding them except you. So just keep doing what you are doing it just might gain so interest a little later.

So, my silver (maybe) crawled thru the dog fence and was utilized as a chew toy. You know the kind--where they pull all the insides out?

I and a few friends are still working diligently on the citron d'uccle. Here is one of my project studs, Squeaky Toy.

Plus I still have some babies from a silkie mom that is throwing a gorgeous shade of buff.


I'm hoping this buff has the same genetics as pumpkin, which is just a combination of genes. However, two copies of the pumpkin will dilute red/buff, as you see in Squeaky's mom.

My new roos have arrived from Jerry in Florida. Now, keep in mind, I'm not breeding Seramas, so these are not show quality seramas, but Jerry was nice enough to help me out with my project.
These are my new roos. One appears to have chocolate, the other appears to have the same genes going on as my pumpkin roos, probably wheaten?




Plus, my own little man



Now, all I need are more mille fleur d'uccle hens to breed them to. Too bad Ideal doesn't have pullets only for sale right now. I wanted to get a start on the spring breeding. Now, it will be a year before I even get chicks from the new batch of hens. I only have five hens right now!

neither Buff/Lemon or Citroen Spangled Hamburgs will be a good genetic way to Citroen(recessive cream gene) Duccle, your best option is to get yourself a Cream Dutch bantam, they wont bring any unwanted dominant gene to your flock, basically they are ALL wildtype like the Red Jungle Fowl except for the cream gene, buff has lots of unwanted genes, Citroen spangled Hamburgs do carry cream BUT they have about 5 dominant genes you dont want near your breeding pens
