An old (both senses he was in his eighties and this was 20 some years ago he passed away) neighbor of mine used to haul off people's trash as a side job and he got paid extra to haul off old appliances that no longer worked he had 2 large chest type freezers he would lay his sacks of cattle feed on and a small one he dumped the feed bags into he emptied his small one every few months but always mixed up the feed good when he could to keep it fresh, but he never had any critters or bugs in his feed.
