I am really interested in being able to raise back yard chickens. Is there anything organized already that I can become part of in Miami Twp? I think it's ridiculous that communities like Montgomery and Madeira can raise chickens in their back yards and we in Miami Twp. cannot.

I know this is an old post. Is there any interest in working toward this again? I would love to keep chickens. We have just over an acre and I'm shocked that we still can't.

Any news on whether or not Miami Township is going to allow backyard chickens?
I am in the process of buying a house in Miami twp and I am very interested in working towards this.

Hey everyone - they are now allowed. 6 max and only hens. Coop cannot be higher than seven feet and a max 30 square feet. You have to apply for a permit (but really you don’t because unless a neighbor reports you they are legal now in Miami Township
