Eye problem with several hens in our flock (pictures) Help Please!!!

I noticed yesterday that our buff orpington was squinting her left eye. I didn't notice any apparent discharge. Today it was pretty much closed and I notice that our RIR and our Partridge Rock both had similar symptoms. The latter has a white discharge. We have a total of 6 hens in our flock. The last three were introduced 10 weeks ago after being quarantined for about a month. So far, the three original hens are the ones affected, not the newest hens.

I'm not seeing any other symptoms. They are eating good and having a great time free ranging in the back yard.

What do I need to do for this?

That white stuff is puss and I believe comparing to what my own have gone through and what I have been told by chickens lovers. You have a respiratory illness and possibly a sinus infection. My guys went through this and I was told to give them "Superbooster". This is an antibiotic and electrolyte mix. I am not sure if you can get that in the states, but Tylan is another one I have heard.
This goes in their water and is best given for up to 3 days after symptoms go away. Then you have a 5 day withdrawl for egg or meat use.

It is important to remember that this will get better but they will be carriers for life and more then likely your entire flock will get this. If you bring in any other chickens to your flock they will get this and you will have to do this all over again.

looks like a sinus infection. I would start them on Tylan ASAP!!! Look it up to see the dose to use. You can pick it up at your local TSC.
 
Sadly, I discovered a rooster with the same foam in his eyes, and the same symptoms as your girls. I was told it was Mycoplasma. Curious to hear what others tell you. I am hoping it's not. Curious, did your chickens come from a breeder or hatchery?

I went and talked to a local breeder and showed the pictures and described the symptoms. I was given some duramycin-10 to put in their water. With the Christmas upon us, it is tough to find anyone around. I have a call into some friends of ours (they are both vet's) to see if they has any knowledge or recommendations. I hope they are not out of town for the holiday. My wife (me too) is very attached to her girls and I would hate to have to cull them. Hoping for results.

azhenhouse, the girls came from two different breeders. The first three came to us as pullets in July (these are the ones affected), and the second three came to us as pullets in September. They were quarantined for about a month before they were introduced. so they have been together for almost 3 months now.
