i culled her yesterday morrning. None of the other chicks have shown any signs yet. So hopefuly it was just her.

I had to put the Frizzle down this morning:( Not a great day to start the morning. So far none of the others have shown any symptoms, so I'm hoping they're going to be ok.

It's one of those diseases you can run but can't hide from. Sigh...

Breeder birds are bred for resistance against these nasty diseases. If a pair of breeder birds is bought for $30, and a batch of 15 hatchery chicks is bought for $30 (and they keep dying), you could save some money if you decide to breed the breeder pair.

My eggs where from a breeder, not a hatchery.iv never purchased birds from a hatchery. I know that has nothing really to do with why my chick got sick..i had a horrible time with my hatch..iv never hatched in the winter.i set 24 eggs and only got 6..most of them died in the shell...and acouple i had to help..i dont know if its because i got the eggs late, or if my bator thermometer isnt correct. I think she might have had a problem due to hatching or somthing..idk
