Keeping eggs seperated during hatching, ideas?

I am setting eggs today, half my purebreds and half some mutts for a friend. I know I have seen pics of how some have kept their eggs seperated during hatching so they can tell what's what. Does anyone know where I can find pics? Seems like it was tiny baskets or something. Thanks

Note: It’s not necessary but I like to place a piece of foam grip drawer mat on the wire bottom of incubator on day on day 18 lockdown. A cloth, crinoline, or paper towels could work as well. This protects the navel, the place where the abdomen closes after surrounding the remains of the yolk, from injury. It also makes cleaning the incubator easier. NO the wire on the incubator bottom should not injure or effect your chicks after they hatch. Dollar store baskets are great to keep hatching chicks separated by breed.

I don’t have photos but it depends a bit on what your incubator looks like. Someone recently said they got some baskets from the Dollar Store but what size you actually need will depend a bit on your incubator and how many eggs you have.

You can make some baskets from hardware cloth if you can’t find anything to suit you. Or maybe build a fence across your incubator. Be flexible and willing to use your imagination. There are different ways to do this.
