HELP! MY RABBIT JUST HAD BABIES!!

They really was dead...
But when I got home I put another male rabbit in the pen bc my last male died, but anyway he "did the deed" & then fell over! (I thought it was funny!) I should have some more babies soon, so next time I'll mover her & her babies inside & make sure these don't die!

I'm not a rabbit person, but you need to find out how soon those male kits are going to be sexually mature and breeding their mother or sisters. That's where you're going to get more babies, and I'm guessing it's like 6 weeks or so. Rabbits have no morals about breeding with close relatives and those young boy bunnies will be all over their female relatives.
I've bred rabbits and it's definitely more than 6 weeks...
So sorry for you c0dywhite! Breeding rabbits isn't easy at all and it's not unusual for these things to happen.

So sorry about the bunnies...

If it happens again I would suggest taking them out of the hole and putting them in a nestbox, with the fur, very close to the hole or even over it. However, I've never had my rabbits dig like that. I keep them in wire-bottomed cages. When I had an accidental birth, I put them in a nestbox and she didn't know the difference.

I know it's safe to keep male bunnies with their siblings for at least 9 weeks. Any rabbit raising book at the library should be able to tell you.

Alright thanks! This guy I know says having them in a hole is better, but idk.
She is bred one more time, so I'll see how he has this litter. I'll take all the rabbits out. I think the other female didn't let her in the hole, but idk.

Sorry to hear about the losses

Honestly, till it's warmer out I wouldn't even let her kindle in the hole. Since you have the date of 'the deed' on day 20-25 you should feel her stomach- underneath on the sides- by that point you will be able to feel the little kits bodies - if she has them then I would place her in an indoor set up & then after she has had them you can either keep momma in full time or only bring her to feed them. Some people may not agree, but with what happened previously, I personally would take her in.

I would also check the other female as well & do the same is she takes as well.
Once the weather is warmer, I wouldn't be as worried ,would let them stay out but for sure to relocate a litter if there is more than one to avoid a possible territory issue or abandonment

again all opinion-> but better safe than sorry when it comes to the kits

I agree 100%.
After this litter, if she don't feed them or whatever I won't breed her again. I did research, so of I think she's neglecting them I'll go buy the stuff & try to feed them my self. When they have babies I'll separate them, so oft hat won't happen again, if that's what happened.
Thanks for the info, I'll do my best to save these babies!
