Has anyone else had white rouen ducklings? Has anyone had luck sexing them correctly by bill color? Half my ducklings are dark, but mostly they turned out white this time, and I have people wanting only females.... I don't know how to tell.
Thanks. . .

There are no white Rouens. If the ducks you believe to be Rouens are producing some white ducklings it's because they are cross breeds. Some breeds of ducks can be sexed by bill colour but with a cross breed who knows? Vent sexing is the most accurate way to sex young birds but it's not easy to do and it is an easy eay to hurs the bird.

Well, apparantly the Rouens I have received from the hatchery then, are cross breeds. All have always looked exactly like the regular (gray) Rouen male/female markings, except this time. Interesting. I am aware that vent sexing is dangerous, and would not try that. Thank you for your post.

I have a flock of rouens. Last year's hatch produced 2 white rouens. These are not crossbreeds. Albinism is common in birds. Sexing by bill color is not accurate in rouens. I sexed by voice but ultimately the only way to know for sure is to wait for the drake feathers to appear on the males (curly tail feathers).

we had 4 white pekin ducklings from two rouen parents out of brood of 14. obviously cross-breeds. one has a few black feathers on the tail and middle of the back, the others are pure white. we have been sexting by voice. 100% so far
