Adults known to have wet and dry fowl pox. No signs in chicks 4 have dropped dead in 2 days. Walked on 5th one laying down to die. Wrapped in a washcloth in my hand. Keeps having almost a seizure - extending legs and throwing head back over her own back. Gave her liquid b 12 and contents of fish oil capsule in hopes it may help. Leaving house in 1 hour for meeting I can't miss. Started coccidiosis treatment for flock with corid yesterday evening just in case. vaxing for fowl pox this afternoon. What else can I do? What do you think this is. They are fine till they drop dead. I see a couple things under wings that might be pox lesions and one side of her tongue has maybe a white patch.

I just gave her a drop of colloidal silver and OnGuard essential oil and am feeding her cinnamon applesauce which she is eating though her eyes are mostly closed and I have to hold her against her spasms. I will set her in a container when I leave to keep her from throwing her head all the way back and strangling.

So sorry about your chicks, no real idea what is going on. Your pictures of the chick do look like pox, wonder if you have a secondary thing going on with some of them like encephalomyelitis?

I agree with Dawg, that form of wet pox is not treatable, and although I have had succes in treating several with wet pox that's limited to the mouth, it has been way more work than the average person would be willing to do.

Sounds like the throes of death have started, I'm soooo sorry!

But there is a slight chance that she's hypoglycemic, so maybe the applesauce will perk her up.

Oh I'm so very sorry about your chicks. What a awful thing. If it is in the throat there is not much you can do but keep her comfortable. I know how you feel. I just went through a deadly virus im my flock and lost all but one. Sometimes no matter how hard we try we just can't save them. Sadly. .. How is she doing? Is she still hanging in there? I'm so sorry you have to go through this. .my prayers are with you.
