I've read many negative things about allowing sparrow's to eat and poop in your turkey feed. The birds around here become real problems and come around in flocks and eat and poop in the feed of my royal palms. I have fought off blackhead and wonder if there is any connection. I also have chickens but have them separate. I just wanted to show anyone interested in a way I've found to keep the sparrow birds from entering my turkey coop where I have a feeder. In the photos' you will see the doorway for the turkeys. I've stapled purple nylon rope sections down in front of the opening for the door so the turkeys have learned to walk past/thru the strings but the birds don't seem to fly in since the strings/ropes won't allow room enough for them to fly in. So far it seems to work to my satisfaction. I just thought I'd share this.

Thanks. Great idea. I thought they would have to be closer together but since you mentioned that the birds fly in and out that makes sense.
