Please help to let me know if i should be worried about this black blister on my hens foot? I first noticed it on my white leghorn this morning but i then checked my ISA brown and she has one too...

There is a surgery on here that you do. We just did it in August for one of our hens. It took two weeks being isolated and cleaned. One more week and she was healed. I now keep a regular eye on their feet. I'll look and see if I can find the link for you. There is a "natural" link on here about soaking the foot in stuff made for fish. I was afraid it would come back so we just did the surgery. *key is to get the little cyst out.

Thanks for all the replies. I just dont think I would feel comfortable performing that surgery:( I would be too scared of doing to wrong/ doing more harm than good.

You can always take the bird to an avian vet if you are that concerned, and that's okay. Most of us have been hesitant about performing surgeries, injections, even tube feeding for the first time. Being cautious and following directions prevents mistakes. Veterinary care can be quite expensive, so you'll have to get in there sooner or later if you want to raise chickens. You can do it!
