I bought a few hens and roosters from a local seller. Based on what I've read, these can be Asil or Shamo....how can I tell the difference? Three of my hens are currently broody so I'm really looking forward to these chicks. Thanks!

in the section called Breeds, genetics and showing there are some threads on there about shamo, asils, and maylays you should be able to ask there and find out what they are, as I just know that they look like they could drop kick you if you make them mad

Go on ultimate fowl. There's alot people who keep Shamo and asil. They look to be young Shamo. They should have more square shoulders though

Update

A few months after taking the pics I posted at the beginning of this thread, my hens had chicks. These two roosters were among the few that were hatched from the same batch. Both will turn two January 1st. One is spangled and the other is blue...they are huge! Just thought I'd share.
