9 Breeds to Choose from

Can you show us your New Hampshires? I might be interested in Buckeye and New Hampshire--if I get a second coop I put an offer on.
Sorry, I have been trying to get the pictures on the ad, but it is slow since I can't seem to get more than one to load at a time.

They are a good line. I have added some larger birds to the program this year. I started with birds from Duane Urch, and this year have added some from a breeder in Topeka (Zimmerman), and another from here in Minnesota. They should bring a bit more size to my flock. Mine are not going to knock over any APA open shows (yet

) but they are much better than hatchery stock. I do like my mature hens, they actually look better the second year than the first. I have only Blues and Blacks for now, until my Splash rooster develops a bit more, then I plan to switch him out with the Black who is in there now.
Is there anything else you would like to know? I do not have any other pictures for now. This winter was rough on the birds and I just haven't gotten any good ones of them. I should get some saddles on them too before the season gets too much further along to keep the favorites from getting bare.
I will say, my son showed in our 4-H show, if that is what you are looking for them for, and he took Res. Champion out of about 40 trios of LF chickens.

I do cull for any DQs. I am working to improve the quality on every generation and following the SOP.

Let me know if I can help you any further.

Do you have white silkie chicks still ?
Yet? Is the better question. My stupid Silkies haven't given me even 1 egg yet this year. Everything was late getting started, and now all the other breeds are giving me eggs, but those Silkies are just not doing it. I don't know why. Last year I was setting Silkie eggs in mid-February, so I really have no idea why I am not seeing them yet. Once they do, I have 8 hens and two roosters, so I should get a good number. Would you like to get on my waiting list?
Thanks.

I haven't gotten into tracking the number of eggs from them, in part because my inventory of them changes throughout the year. They are good layers from about February to September for me, then they drop off. However, this year has been whacky with the extra long, extra cold winter. They are not my best layers, but they lay a fair number for me.
