I'm not really sure what the type of program would be called that I'm looking for. It's making it hard for me to find one not knowing what to look for.

What I'm wanting is a program that you can type a document into but have places that are blank. Then when you open up the document you can for example type a name in one spot and it puts the name in the spots you want it to in the rest of the document.

More less my husband is an attorney so when he has to type up motions or other files for a case you have to copy and paste the same information over and over. It would be nice to go through the document and only type the information once and have it auto fill in all the correct places.

Anyone know of anything like that? I know there are such programs but I don't know what they are called to look them up.

http://www.abacuslaw.com/form-auto-fill-court/ is something like this what you are looking for? One other simple one if you just want something simple to do names or short sentences is most Word type programs have a find / replace feature, so you can write something like "Black Australorp" in the fill-in-the-blank spaces and just tell it to find / replace it with "White Leghorn" or whatever.

I did more searching and found it was called populate fields. Just can't seem to get it to work in Word. I keep seeing the REF but not sure how to set it up. I tried the developer abstract way but it wouldn't change all of them when I changed one.
