Echo was listening to the whole exchange, a massive scowl on her maw. It was one thing to have your father scold you; it was much worse to have Hades take his side.

Echo's scowl grew as Blizzard retreated. She dismissed Kodiak and Luna with a flick of midnight black tail, and turned her blue eyes to Hades. As if nothing had happened, she asked, "Wanna go hunting?"
 
Starling stopped out of his den, parting his jaws in a massive yawn and stretching out his back legs, sending soil tufting in the process. Closing his jaws, he twitched his ears and looked around for Faedon.
