Meyer Olive Egger?

So I ordered a few Easter Eggers and an Olive Egger (we ordered two) from Meyer Hatchery, along with some barred rocks, a meyer meal maker, Salmon Faverolles, and buff orpingtons. They did not mark the OE as I requested, and I have to share the order with two other people. Is the dark one pictured an OE?















 
I think it'll be virtually impossible to tell the Olive egger from the Easter eggers

Olive eggers and easter eggers are both mixed breeds (mostly anyway - sometimes easter eggers are just ameraucanas of wrong color). And you won't really know which was which unless they tell you the breeds used to make the olive egger. Only then can you compare the color of the down to what each breed's colors are.

But since they didn't mark it, I doubt they would even be able to tell you. So yes, you're pretty much stuck. :-(
 
Meyer is using Legbars and Ameraucana crossed with Marans in their breeding program. So you might not be looking for a chick with puffy cheeks. Look and see if any of the chicks have fuzzy legs and outer toes. Not all olive eggers will inherit the feathered legs from the Marans. My olive egger has very feathered legs though. Well... Yeah, that figures. I'm going to be a little upset if I don't have my OE because it wasn't marked. I doubt the girl that talked to me even make a note "to see if they can." If they weren't able to, then I would have rather them refund my money than "guess." At least then I wouldn't have lost $9 for a chick I could have bought elsewhere. Sorry, ranting.....
 
You paid $9 for an olive egger!?!

All Olive Eggers are Easter Eggers, just bred with one blue egg parent and one dark brown, but not all Easter Eggers are Olive Eggers. I'm working on some myself, but keep hatching boys...

You probably can try sorting and guessing, and keep an eye as they feather out and try to match the two similars up. In my experience, hatchery birds who are mixed breeds like these tend to be similar in appearance. May be able to tell by 4 weeks or so.
