I recently bought my first guinea keets and I looked through a color chart and can't seem to figure out what they are. The keets look similar to the pearl grey color but they are definitely very brown.

The pattern is the same as this but the color is different. Are the perhaps going to change color as they get older?

Also I have some Reds I got from Tractor supply that were in the bin labeled Rhode Islands, New Hampshires, and Sex Links. Originally I thought they were New Hampshires because they were almost yellow but now their feathers are coming in and the wings are white while the shoulders are dark red. Any idea what breed they are? Or will they change color as they get older? I will post pics when my hubby gets home with the camera phone.

I don't know about the guineas, but the chicks are probably red sex - links.

Thanks. What exactly is a red sex link? I know that they produce them in such a way that the female baby is red, hence the sex link bit, but is it a specific breed? And how are they as layers/meat birds? I would assume better layers since most reds are.

a red sex-link is a cross in which a rir roo { or new hamp. } is crossed with a delaware { gold gene with, silver gene } they are very good layers with a good personality.
