I have been hatching my own and bought eggs for a couple of years now. I just recently ordered some eggs and popped them in the incubator. The first morning (13 hrs in) my temp dropped to 98.9. I know at 11 p.m. the temp was 99.5. I just pulled everything tonight and cracked them, day 6. Totals: 14 eggs, 5 not fertile, 2 broken yolks, 2 just rotten, 5 with the bulls eye. Zero development in any, not even a blood ring or change in the bulls eye.

They shipped from 235 miles away. I have hatched a 9/9 (7 roosters, sigh) in a hovabator that ran at 98.7 the entire 22 days. I have had decent hatches from eggs shipped as far 1300 miles. As I was cracking these eggs I did notice that they smelled pretty strong for only being in the 'bator for 6 days.

Possible reasons for a 100% failure? Did the temp drop the first night kill them? Possible the eggs were old? I have never had a 100% failure with out being sure of the cause, like the power went out for 3 days, yup they're goners.

Forgot to add, I am using a Brinsea Eco 20, no automatic turner. I was turning eggs slightly on regular basis. But only half turns because of the broken air cell.
