Dear all,
I'm having a rat problem in my coop. First I killed for with traps but then it stopped and it seems the population is growing. Placed a poison box outside the coop but they mainly stay inside. I'm now trying this baking soda recipe...has anyone tried it (baking soda + flour + sugar)? Any success??

I personally don't like poisoning anything that can get into my coops, as my chickens will eat anything they can get their beaks into, including poisoned rodents. However...Golden Malrin fly bait mixed with animal-appropriate bait is incredibly effective and inexpensive. I would bait at some yards away from the coop.

The most valuable approach to controlling mice and rats is to be sure that they don't have a habitat. Find the places that they can hide and build burrows and eliminate them. Keep any food sources secure.
