Wow that was a lot for one bird, the cost isn't the concern directly, but, hatcheries tend to send Easter Eggers instead and they would sell for much less. So you don't know if they sent the breed you ordered.
 
I asked for blue ameraucanas and that's what I got. Lost one in the package and had to euthanize her sister...
Though I do have easter eggers and I know which ones they are, but none of those looked anything like the blue ameraucanas. It was a lot to pay for but the hatchery issued a credit for the ones lost in shipping so I can order more chicks or hatching eggs when I see what breeds suit my purpose.
