I hatched two dozen eggs with only 14 actually hatching. Four died and one is very small and sickly. These chicks are about 3 days old. All the living one are fine except two, the weak on and another one. This chick is very lifeless. His head just flops to the side limp and he doesn't move it. All he does is lay down and breathe hard. I fed him some water with an eyedropper and some chick started food. The whole time he didn't move and just let the water run down him beak. He doesn't move at all except when his sibling had him flipped on his back. He kicked him legs a little but then got still. His eyes are open and blinking and he seems responsive. He even peeps a tiny bit. The obly thing that seems wrong is that he's so limp. I picked him up and he's currently sitting in my bra. (I have no free hands) He's breathing really hard and I don't know what's wrong with him. Please help me if you have any ideas what I can do.

How long has it been like this? It sounds like you are doing what you can... Keep it warm, hydrated. Mix some egg yolk with water and give it that instead of food and water, if it can swallow o.k.

More detail:

eyes open?
breathing rate?
taking in food or water?
walking?
sitting?
laying down?
how long laying down if not walking?
etc...
hard to help if there's no description

I'm having this problem right now.eyes closed. Laying down. Still breathing and moving her beak. She seems to be a runt. She was smaller then the other babies at the feed store. She was eating yesterday. Not sure what to do.
