fox attack during broad daylight while I was outside!

I believe the foxes are coming out in daylight because they have kits to feed. I'm not excusing their behavior and I'm truly sorry about your hen. I hope she gets better.
 
I haven't seen the fox since the day I chased it in the woods but it could easily still be around.

An update on Foxy is she is getting around much better. I built her a walk ramp so she could get on the roost but she refused to use it. Handicapped accessible. The same day I put it in the coop she made up her mind "I'm getting on the roost" and got up there on her own without the ramp. It's nothing but a poo collector now. lol Since then she gets on the roost every evening and down in the morning. Still no eggs from her but I'm sure that will come soon.

The doubled run is working well and the chicks appreciate it as well since they have more room to get away from the big girls.
 
Not been on here for awhile but foxy is completely healed up and 100% back to doing chickeny things. You would never know anything ever happened to her. She has even pushed her way back into being one of the top hens in the pecking order.
