I have feeling the first three are males, and the last one is possibly female. I just want to see other people's opinions. Thanks;)

I'm mostly worried about these two. Because I just purchased them and as much as I don't want to, I would like to exchange
For definite hens. I just noticed the bumps are starting to form on both chicks. Do hens have the same bumps? Thanks

At 3 months old, there is no way to be sure who is definitely a pullet or cockerel just by looking at them. That's just the way it goes with Silkies. Some of my bigger combed chicks have ended up being pullets, others cockerels.
If you want to be positive on their genders, you can order a DNA testing kit, which requires plucking a feather or two from each chick, sending them to the lab and waiting for the results. Oh, and of course, money!

Good luck :)

I think they look like hens.
Hey, howfunkyisurchicken! How much does a DNA testing kit cost?

It depends on who you choose to do the testing. Most websites advertise the testing kits as free, but you have to pay to have the testing done

This website has a price list, and you'll notice they charge per bird, or the price drops if you're doing more than 50. I've seen DNA testing advertised much cheaper than this, you just have to shop around.

I've never had one done, I'm too cheap, I just wait my birds out. I only knew about them because I've seen others here on BYC have used them

Thanks so much for the input. I decided to keep both no matter what. They're just too darn cute!

Just to give you an idea of how confusing they can be:

I bought this beautiful black fluff ball as a pullet. The breeder and everyone else swore it was a girl. Quite a few months later, it turned into this:

My beautiful rooster

Ok......NOW I'm scared! I can't keep roosters and I terrified that my partridge Silkie is going to turn out to be a boy!
She's only 4.5 weeks old, but I vent sexed her when I got her and she was smaller then the rest of the Silkies.
Is it normal for a 2 day old Silkie chick to weight only 7/8 of an ounce?

Wow. I wouldn't believe it if I didn't see it. I feel better with my decision. Your rooster is indeed handsome :)
