Ya know what? I aint never actually tried one (I dont like raw tomatoes.) Do they taste real tomato-like or...? I wanna know before I try one cuz last time I tried a raw tomato I heaved for a full 5 minutes, but if it aint real tomato-like, I'll try one someday.
I love them with breakfast!! First I fry up some bacon in a big skillet. Then I cook up the hashbrowns in the same skillet in some of the bacon grease. After they are done, I do the fried GTs in the same skillet also in grease. I dredge them in whatever is handy. Last but not least, I fry up some eggs in the bacon-y pan and presto!! The best start to your day ever
I think they have a little tartness to them and are YUMMY! I've tried coating them in flour and coating them in cornmeal, but I've never tried a half/half mixture. I'm going to have to give that a try!
I don't know about y'all but I'm picking the last of my tomatoes while they're still green because the dern pests are eating the red ones faster than I can pick them. That's okay, we'll just have lots of fried green'uns for the next few weeks.
