How long does it take for the external temperature to reach the embryo?

I woke up this morning and I had a super low temperature spike in the eggs that could have been for hours. Now I'm running the temperature high, at 100-102 to try and save what I can. So, I'm trying to figure out just how long it takes for the temperature recorded at the egg shell to reach the embryo inside. For example, if you have a spike that's say 105 degrees but it's for 5 minutes, that's probably unlikely to harm anything because the egg hasn't heated to 105 on the inside. Hope you guys get what I mean!

I wouldn't run the temp higher than normal to counterbalance, I'd just keep it at the desired temp. I've had broody hens be off the eggs quite a while and still have good hatches. How low was the temp, and what day are the eggs on?

Like 89 low. Could've been that way for hours, or just a few minutes, I have no idea. They're on day 3/21.

It was about 89 degrees and they're on day four. I can't see anything when I candle but I'm gonna keep them till day 14.
