Hi everyone, been a long time since posting here as we have been several years without chickens. Now we have 12, and 4 ducks! They are all about 3 months old. They all came from a mix of chicks at the local feed store (so they aren't the best representatives of their respective breeds). We've been able to identify most of their breeds (Silver laced Wyandotte, Barred Rock, two EE's, one bantam EE, two cornish x broilers (and they are HUGE), Production Red, but a few I am not 100% sure on.

Zebra I think is a Delaware, she is a little bit bigger than the rest (except the meat birds and ducks of course!). When she was a fluff ball she was yellow with a black dot on here head. She has light barring on her neck feathers and some of her tail and wing feathers. Oh yeah all those pics are from today, not 2006, lol. And they are free ranging in our yard, so it wasn't easy getting good pictures!

A close up, sort of, of Zebra's feathers showing the barring:

Then Mavis I think is a Dark Cornish, when she was a chick she was tan with darker brown and black stripes. She is slightly smaller than the others and does not have a fluffy butt, and appears to have double-laced feathers. Mavis is also the bird behind Zebra in the above picture.

A close up of Mavis' feathers:

Here is Sparrow, the only good picture I could get of her. I am pretty sure she is an Easter Egger, she had nice dark olive legs. The other EE's (one bantam named Wicket, and one standard, Hazel) are pretty obvious in that they both have olive legs and muffs. I didn't get any pictures of them yet. Or of the production Red, Merida.

And tiny Polkadot, I believe is a Silver Duckwing Old English Game Bantam. She is super fast and is the tiniest of all the chickens we have.

Then here's Roxanne, she has been the hardest for me to ID. I don't think she is a partridge rock, as she is larger than our Barred Rock, and doesn't have the right coloring. I think she might be a Welsummer? But she still doesn't seem to have the correct coloring. Or perhaps she is a black sex link that is just lighter/more brown? I guess really don't know what she is.

Here she is next to RC, the Barred Rock. A terrible picture of her! I will try to get better pictures later.

Here's Owl, the one I am pretty sure is a Silver laced Wyandotte, and Gigantor (cockerel) and ゴジラ (Gojira, the pullet), the broilers, they are easily 4 times the size of the others. Somehow out of all the chicks we only ended up with one male! And his crow is really dumb sounding (he's still developing it I am sure!), it's like a eeeeerrrrrrrghaaaaa..and the dogs bark at him when he does "crow." It sounds weird over here in the mornings! Especially when the duck Quakers starts joining in (she's a mallard I believe, and always quacks when she hears my voice, which sure is cute.

And here are the ducks. Mocha I believe to be a Khaki Campbell female, and the lavender colored, Captain Blueblill, I believe is a Blue Swedish. The other two a female mallard (Quakers) and Pekin (Snowy). Yes, the kiddos helped name them

. What do you all think?

Anyway, that's most of our birds. I really appreciate any help with identifying the ones we're not sure of. Thanks!

I don't do ducks, but I'm going to agree with all your breeds for your pullets. Zebra's actually not a bad looking bird, shape wise. She probably has too much dark color/smut for a "good" Delaware, but she's a nice shaped bird.

I have no idea what Roxanne is. If she's from a hatchery, I'd say some cross that made a black sex link, but man that's a lot of gold on her! Even a buff Orp over a barred Rock hen doesn't throw a pullet with that much gold. I guess she could be a really bad Easter egger, but she's clean faced, has a straight comb and yellow legs, so that's not really even a good road. I'd just call her Unique and enjoy her, she'll probably lay a ton of brown eggs and be a great backyard bird

Thanks! I am wondering if Roxanne is maybe a partridge rock after all, because when she was a chick she was not black like a BSL, but dark brownish black with a dark brown head. ?

Well, I have partridge Rocks in the grow out pen and truthfully, if they look like her when all's said and done I'm going to want my money back

. I ordered them as I wanted the specific eye candy with the pretty lacing, and while she's a pretty bird, she's not what I'd be looking for. But, that may be as good a guess as any....

Roxanne has the wrong comb to be a Partridge Rock, and the feather pattern is all wrong. Not sure what she is, but I'm sure of what she isn't. Sorry, not so much help, I know.

She does have a straight comb, here are a couple new pictures of her. She looks pretty similar those Ideal birds, though less round :) . I live in Texas so Ideal is probably where the feed store ordered them from (only about 110 miles away from Ideal). I agree she doesn't really look like a partridge rock, nor does she have the body type, and is bigger than our barred rock RC, but when she was a chick she didn't look like a BSL either. Perhaps she's just a mutt of some sort! Any way we love her and look forward to the brown eggs she will lay in a couple months.
