Flight pen netting and bats?

Anyone have any experience with flight pen netting and bats? I'm considering netting in one of my pastures so I can let the peas and guineas out to sort of free range during the day, but I also have a large breeding colony of small brown bats living in my barn that is adjacent to the pasture, and it's a swarm of bats every night in that area... Wondering if the bats will 'sense' the netting and stay away or if I'm going to have bats crashing into the netting and possibly finding bats caught in the netting every morning?

Anyone with experience?

I think the bats will avoid the netting. Their sonar is pretty remarkable.
I agree

Yes, I agree their sonar is top notch after all they snag small bugs out of the sky all night long, and although they swarm around me in the barn they have yet to actually hit me day or night...

But, there is plenty of images of them caught in bird netting in Google, so I was curious if anyone here had first hand experience with flight pens...

I actually cherish the fact that there is a breeding colony in the barn and enjoy seeing them around, less of course all the guano they leave behind making the loft of the barn nearly useless for storage unless under a tarp...

This year two wild birds have died by getting caught in my netting. When I first had the netting up, sometimes I would find birds stuck in the netting and I would un-tangle them or cut them out but recently they have been dying before I can save them.

Recently a woodpecker got caught in the netting and died. Last year a squirrel got caught in the netting and died. I walked into the pen and saw a squirrel stuck there dead. The heat in the summer and the cold in the winter is what kills them probably.

I don't know if anyone else has little bird fatalities, but I sure do feel horrible for them especially when I think that they probably had a mate that is now all alone. I have never had an issue with bats getting caught in the netting though.
