Hi, we've been told that we need to dress our chickens up for our upcoming 4H achievement day. I have no clue how to dress up a bantam chicken so does anybody have any suggestions for homeade costumes or ideas? ( I didn't know what category this would go under sorry)

Oh my, this must be both a test of your creativity and a test of the chickens' tolerance. I think one of the easiest things might be to make a tutu for a ballerina costume which just requires tulle, elastic and does not require sewing. There are probably a bunch of tutorials on line for girls' tutus but you would size it for a chicken of course. using fleece and velcro and then adding appliques to the fleece with glue would also be a no sew idea. Here is a link to a thread with some photos of chickens in costumes (some of them look like dog costumes):

Please post some photos of the 4H chickens on this website in the "Pictures and Stories of your chickens" section after the event.

Thanks so much. I will definetly post pictures after!
Good luck. I hope you have fun and your chicken cooperates. I am going to subscribe to this thread. If you want to post the photos after the event, you can come back to this thread so I won't miss the pics

@MapleLeaf11 Thanks for posting the photos. Ha! So fun!!! I'm so glad I checked back at my old posts, so I could see the photos. I must have forgotten to subscribe to the thread after I said I was planning to.

Anyway, your hen is a Seabright right? Let me guess... her costume was a chicken burrito? That's clever. And she posed for her photo with the most dramatic effect of all the costumed chickens.
