I have two broody hens setting on a clutch of eggs due to hatch out tomorrow. Will they remain broody? Can I place more eggs under them or should I give them some time off and for how long? It is so nice having the hens do all the work of hatching the eggs! Any advice is welcome as this is my first year with broodies.

I would not give them more eggs. For one thing, I don't know if they would continue to be broody or not. It's also kind of hard on them to hatch a clutch of eggs. I know, all they do is sit there, but that's the point. They don't eat much, they don't drink much, and they don't get around much. I realize their metabolism goes down because they are just sitting there, but I still think they need a break. Let them raise the chicks they've hatched and hope you have another hen go broody.
