Dog attack. Twice. I am devastated.

Something very sad happened today. My precious 3 year old daughter was picking green beans in the garden and she thought she saw something black in the tall grasses behind the garden area. She came screaming and running to me with such terror in her eyes like I've never seen before crying, "the dogs are coming back to get me mommy!" That just really breaks my heart :(

Look into counseling for your daughter before she ends up with a life long fear of dog attacks. Add the cost of the therapy or counseling to the bill that you charge the neighbors. They are responsible for the psychological damages done to your child and should pay for any professional help she needs to get back to being a normal well adjusted child.

I am very sad that you and your family have had to endure this. I have been the victim of an attack by a pair of dobermans as a teenager, and another attack by a stray when I was walking home from school. I was afraid to walk down my street for months after. But my parents had a German Shepard and then a Rottwieller and I eventually got over my fears just because our dogs were well adjusted and friendly. Now I am a parent myself, and we have large breed dogs as pets. My dogs are well socialized, have an escape proof pen, and some are enrolled in obedience class. It is my responsibility as a pet owner and mother, to ensure the good behavior of my animals. People that don't take their responsibilities seriously should not have dogs.

Unfortunately the only way to teach dog owners like this is to hit them in the pocket book. Find out what replacement ducks cost, any feed and egg laying costs you can, and a good therapist or counselor for your family. Send the bill to the neighbor, and if need be take them to court. I hope that time and counseling helps your daughter and family recover from this horrible event.

Oh my gosh I would be so upset...I have 6 Muscovie babies I can offer to you when you get a fence set up..I can hold them over the winter and care for the 1 you have..until you get situated..
