Hi just join nice to meet everyone. Ive always had chickens but want to make a hobby or business of it now with different breeds rite now i have barred rocks silkies and new breed the rainbow chicken and a few different turkeys. Im wanting a few bantam breeds. Love the black tail Japanese bantam had them before and the bb red bantams. Was wondering if anyone knows which breeds you can cross to make a barred rock bantam i would like to try it myself before i buy a few of them.

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. The standard Barred Rock breed was developed from using crosses of Dominiques, Black Javas, Cochins, Malays, and Dorkings, and then from the standard sized Barred Rock, the Barred Rock bantam was developed. I don't want to sound negative, but the entire process took a couple of hundred years, so I think you are likely attempting to tackle something beyond your ability to accomplish. As you said, you can always buy some Barred Rock bantams from a breeder or a hatchery. Good luck in getting your Barred Rock bantams.
