Chick with green legs...

I thought Americanas or whatever variation of that name the hatchery uses is an easter egger. Am I wrong?

Here is from the hatchery I got mine from:

There are Ameraucauna's that is a "true" breed. Hatcheries sell Americanas (notice it's spelled with an "i") and they are really Easter Eggers. Easter Eggers are considered "mutts" and not a true breed (although Easter Eggers are one of my favorites). Its when people or hatcheries sell Easter Eggers and advertise them as Ameraucauna's or Araucaunas....they are the true breed that is recognized as true. So basically, they are false advertising when they are not truly selling a pure breed chicken.

Nothing at all wrong with the Easter Eggers....I just figure to call it what it is :)

Thanks for all the info! I'm always learning something on here :) I have never noticed an EE with green legs before so I wasn't sure but I knew buff orpingtons didn't have green legs so I assumed it was her since I only got one EE. The other two I know are buffs because the other ones are black and white so I think I can be 99.999% they're my Dominique's lol
