2 hens with their own chicks in the same coop... Possible?

I am new to this! I've been reading posts on this website without actually being a member for such a long time! I don't know why I didn't sign up any sooner. Perhaps because I have a question I can't find on any website... So here goes, my first Q.

I have two hens, one with 7 chicks (3 weeks old) and the other with 17 chicks (almost 2 weeks old). I would like to put them into the same large coop in two days. Is this a bad idea? I am not so worried about the little ones fighting as they are still quite young. More so worried about the mothers not getting along.

It might work out fine, or not. Things ight have gone a little more smoothly if they had been together from hatch day. If you try it, be sure to supervise. You can also give them more than one food and water tation, soe distractions, and hopefully, lots of space with some hiding places.

Judy X2 It is always best to start them together for incubation and by the time the chicks hatch, generally the groups get along well. Sometimes even sharing chick duties!

But since your broodies have been separate, you will have to experiment. I would advise when you mix them, you stand guard for quite some time to make sure they don't later go off on each other or hurt each others chicks. Chances are the moment you mix them, there will be peace. But once the broodies figure out what is going on 15 mins later, they could turn on each other. So be prepared to hang around awhile to make sure it goes smoothly.

I can't say for sure whether your two hens will get along together; you won't know until you try. Make sure you watch them for a while, and break them up if they begin to fight/injure eachother. Some minor sparring is okay, but you don't want the chicks to get hurt.
