Hi Everyone,
I'm hen-less at the moment but preparing to house a very small flock of little egg layers soon. A dear friend and enthusiastic flock owner got me interested a few months back and I've been hooked every since. I'm looking forward to learning from you all, and of course, to that first egg.
Have a wonderful day and thank you!
Cynthia

Enjoy this new adventure you are on and welcome to our flock!

Thank you all! I'm sure all be asking a ton of questions. :) I'm already reading like a madwoman.
I'm bringing my coop together today on my day off and I may go take a look at a few 10 month old girls, a Lavender Orpington, Speckled Sussex, Silver Laced Wyandotte (a favorite!), and a Black Australorp. I only want to start with 2 or three max. I'll let you know how it goes!

Welcome to BYC. I think you really need to get all four. They are old enough to be laying, and if you get them all together - you won't have integration issues. Of course they still will have to decide the pecking order.

Thank you....I was wondering about that. The Orpington would come from another flock. The Sussex, Wyandotte, and Australorp were all raised together. I may skip the Orpington, just so she doesn't have to deal with "mean girl syndrome". I want my girls to get along, since they will also be pets as well as egg layers.
