Sorry to hear about your rooster. It does sound like he is sick. Keep him separated from the rest of the flock and start a thread in the emergencies section, if you haven't already, for help with diagnosis and treatment. Best of luck with him!

Well this happened after I washed him and the others and this afternoon when I went to check on him the others were still fine but he just sat there and when I went to pet him normally he would run away like the others but he just stood up and let me pet him. There are also 3 different chicks (I don't know what breed) that live with my 4 silkies but they're not showing any signs of sickness like my rooster.

Well, I built a play pen for my chickens and it seems that living in its "natural" habitat made my rooster get better. He's been eating, drinking and socialising with the other silkies. Thanks for all the help.

We got lav orpington roo as a chick and our friend got some from the same breeder. All of hers died from tumors/fox attack and now ours seems sick! His poop has been very runny and we went out to the chicken yard and his face, comb, and wattles were purple and he appeared to be coughing on flem. He hasn't hen crowing an often sneezes when trying. Does anyone know what's wrong!!!!!! Also, he bred with some of our ladies can we still eat their eggs?
