Are buff wyndottes a breed known for its broodiness? Can't seem to break two of mine!

They are not known to be a crazy about being broody breed, but they do go broody. Truthfully, even amongst breeds that have had the broodiness bred out of them you can still end up with a hen that loves to go broody.
Want a challenge? Try breaking a brahma, a cochin, a silkie or a serama from broodiness. I usually give up and end up with chicks.

I have a rooster named Oops. Why is he named Oops? Because while I was busy watching my serama Widget carefully to make sure she didn't collect up eggs in her usual nest, she was busy hiding and hatching a chick in another spot.

I broke a broody 2 1/2yo Light Brahma not long ago,
she spent 3 days/nights in the nest,
then 3 days/nights in a bare wire crate in the coop.

I got her out of the nest and crate a couple times a day to poop, stretch her legs and dust bathe,
once in breaking mode when she headed back to the nest she got put back in the crate,
3rd afternoon break she stayed out of the nest and went to roost and that was the end of it.

I had a broody like that last year. She (Emma) was 2 at the time, a dark brahma. Didn't take me long to break her.

This year Emma went broody again. I tried everything - removing her from the nest, blocking her from the nest, the dreaded broody breaking crate. This went on for three long months, no exaggeration. Worried about her health I gave up. Emma had been broody for four months when she finally got her reward - six healthy chicks from shipped eggs.

My serama Widget I can break in no time. Doesn't really do me much good...she'll break, wait a week, start laying again and be broody in no time all over again. Widget and Emma, not worth the fight anymore. They win, I lose.

I've had one Columbian Wyandotte go broody. She managed to hatch a clutch of eggs along with a light brahma hen. I've had one Welsummer go broody as well. Oh, my first broody was a barred rock though. Good luck!
 
I have a golden laced Wyandotte that goes broody all the time. I do believe that they are a broody breed.
 
My wyndotte doesnt even sit on eggs as I take them away. They arent even hers as others lay in the same box and she shuffles them underneath her.
I dont have a rooster so they wouldnt hatch anyway!
