Hello, from a first time chicken owner!

Congratulations on getting the chickens!

I would personally clip the wings of the Leghorns. While they may not try to get away, it is a good precautionary measure. If they seem tame and don't try to get out, you don't have to clip the wing again in the future.

As for the feeder, I'd remove the bowls of feed. With only the feeder for a food source they'll use it more.

Sounds like we'll have be brave and clip their wings this weekend! We have watched lots of videos and read books on how to do this - it's just a matter of getting a hold of them rather than the clipping part that is the scary part. First time for everything though ;)

They do seem to be eating more from the feeder, so I think it's time I removed the bowls...I think these are more a security blanket for the humans than the birds.

Thanks for the feedback!

I recommend some Buff Orphingtons, they are beautiful and multi-purpose!
