Suddenly sick -change in behavior today

Again, a bit better like yesterday. She's walking around and her tail feathers are not completely down, but not complete up, somewhere in the middle. She's eating and drinking and even went after the cabbage treat they had today. When they went into their coop tonight, she still didn't roost up with the other girls. But, she acted like she really wanted to get up, but just couldn't. Better than the last few nights when she just sat down in the straw.

Thanks everyone for all the advise. It is greatly appreciated.

some sort of POX???

We had to put her down this morning. She had been walking around and eating. Not running like the others, but moving. Her tail feathers had lifted 1/2 way up. But, when I checked this morning she couldn't walk. She had gotten on the perch last night but couldn't get down this morning. I picked her up and she was very limp. When I set her on the straw, she just fell over. PLUS... she had big black spots on her comb and waddle.

I had been gone for a few days on business travel and husband was monitoring. He reports she was out and about w/no problem. This morning, whammo.... can't move, big chunks of black.

Husband put her down. The other chickens seem fine. Tomorrow afternoon, I'll thoroughly clean out the coop and put in fresh straw.

Sorry for your loss. Could you wrap her in a garbage bag and refrigerate her body, to send it in for a necropsy by your state vet Monday AM? Without seeing the spots in a photo, it would be hard to tell if it was pox or peck wounds, but peck wounds are usually jet black. Here is a link with typical fowl pox, although it can look different in any case: https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/avian-pox-how-to-treat-your-chickens-for-avian-pox
