Mixing Birds (chickens and pigeons)

Are there any hazards with keeping pigeons and chickens in the same coop but separate caged areas? I have a 8ft square cube shed I converted and created an upper 1/4 of it for a pigeon loft. I'm thinking there might be a possible disease problem down the line? Thx.
 
Diseases aren't a problem. Only if the chickens and the pigeons are living in the same coop where they have to compete for food and stuff. Chickens can really hurt/kill pigeons. But if they are separated then it's fine to keep them together.
