HELP!!!! Shipped chicks not improving

Make sure they have a warm spot at about 95 degrees to warm up. Then, as others suggested, take each chick and dip the end of its beak into the water. You can repeat this until at least one catches on and starts drinking. I would suggest putting sav-a-chick or infant vitamins without iron in their water for a boost. If you don't have access to either of those, then you can give them a bit of sports drink (gatorade, etc.) or add a bit of sugar to the water.

So sorry! I would make sure there's a temperature gradient in there so the chicks can move to a comfortable location individually. 100 F is a bit too warm. Have you contacted the hatchery? This sounds like a shipping problem, with the post office, or the hatchery. Sometimes you just won't win, if these babies are that ill on arrival. Mary
 
It sounds like you are doing everything possible for these little ones. I shudder to even think what may have happened to the poor babes.

I understand fully what you mean. At the point where you have these poor ailing little creatures in your care, it isn't just about getting a refund, or replacement chicks. It's just about having these suffering babies and you want to do everything possible under the sun to help them and make them better. I feel for you and for them, and hope they start to improve soon.

Sounds like just a bad ship. Get your money back and move on, not much else you can do, sorry.

I'm quite curious who shipped chicks at 3-4 days old, though? Day old chicks can be shipped cause they absorb that yolk right before they hatch and it sustains them up to 72 hours. But at 3 days, they're needing to eat and drink pretty frequently.
 
Who did you order from? How long from the ship date to the day you got them? If the box was wet was it wet on the outside and the inside or just the outside? Has it been raining in your area? What is the chance they sat at the post office for more that a few hours before you were contacted? There are a lot of factors that the answers to combined might make it possible to determine what happened. Have you contacted the hatchery or breeder you got them from? What did they say?
