Why are my chicks eating at 3 am instead of sleeping? X post

My brooder babies always eat at night. They're in a dark barn with a red lamp, and always up and moving when I go out to check on them at night. Cornish cross, production layers, mutts, whatever. The red light doesn't let it get dark enough for them to trigger a good sleep, they just sleep randomly.

Broody raised babies don't get up to eat at night, though.

When you get that beed it is JUST FOR EATTING right ? I haven't read anything on that breed -that's why I am asking-- IM A NEWBY- first chickens got in the spring-
How long do you keep them ?

It is just for eating. They are ready for harvest after 6-7 weeks. I have begun taking away the food in the evening.
