yesterday this beast started attacking us when we enter the chicken enclosure. we are thinking of building him a bachelor pad away from the girls until service is needed. i want to keep him for my black autralorp hens since he is one too I want a larger flock of them. but not if he needs salt and pepper in a pot I can do that too. THOUGHTS?

In my opinion mean roosters make a mighty fine tasting pot pie. Aggression is a highly inheritable trait. So, if you breed him, then you'll be breeding that trait into your next generations. Personally, I will not keep a mean roo (or a mean hen for that matter). It's too easy to replace them, and get a nice one. I don't even allow my roosters to give me the "eyeball". If they start getting even a little cocky with me, they get the opportunity to have an attitude adjustment. If they fail to get with the program, they go straight to freezer camp. In the end it is entirely your decision. But something to keep in mind is that BAs are pretty large birds, and it is entirely possible that he could do you serious injury if he continues attacking.
