So last February I got the opportunity to get in touch with a local hatchery who would breed your own custom breed. (New idea they had) what they had done was they took 3-5 breeds that were similar and had complimentary qualities and the end product was what they called their stock birds. So basically the stock breeds were only bred with very similar breeds so that you would still get a good bird. So my chicks were bred by 3 stock birds---1 White brown egg laying dual purpose clean leg---2 buff brown egg laying clean leg egg bird---3 white white egg clean leg layer bird and so the resulting bird is a very light white color with clean legs red comb yellow legs and it lays 5-6 extra large brown eggs every week.
