My Khaki Campbell usually lays a healthy egg everyday but today it laid a second egg in the afternoon, and it was soft shelled. We recently bought a new type of duck food for my ducks. What should I do?!

Is the new food layers pellets? Maybe the new food has less calcium than the old food and she just isn't getting quite enough to keep up with her egg production. You can provide her with extra calcium on the side in the form of crushed oyster shells and her eggs should get back to normal.

Occasionally getting a soft shelled egg isn't usually anything to worry about, especially if she's young. I think it's unlikely to be a calcium problem if she laid a hard one earlier today. I wouldn't worry about it unless she isn't acting right or the soft eggs continue. Of course, she still needs calcium in the form of layer feed or oyster shell.
