Mottled Ameraucana, Mille Fleur Cochins, Chocolate and Khaki Bantam Polish, Tolbunt Polish

I am not very familiar with the Mottled Ameraucana and wondering do these breed true? I know to be a true Ameraucana they are supposed to, however, I had seen where this was also considered a project bird not long ago, and not sure of the current status. Some sites or groups are still talking about them in project status. I'm not trying to be crazy here, I would just love some information about these beautiful birds.

They are considered project because they are not a recognized color and we are still working on correct slate legs, but we are starting to see those slate legs now it will just take time to weed out the mottled legs. They do breed true with the exception of blue mottled obviously because blue to blue can produce black mottled, blue mottled, and splash mottled. Some of us have introduced solid birds to the mottled line to widen the gene pool and improve type and the first generation produced split to mottled birds. They are solid but carry the mottling gene and the second generation will produce both mottled and split, but when speaking of mottling bred to mottling yes they do breed true.

Thanks so much for the explanation. I know bird genetics are quite complicated. I like to understand what kind of bird I'm getting. I love these birds and would love to get some for my flock. I will have to order when I get a spot. These are beautiful bird.
