Hi again everyone,
So my goose has been scratching his head, between his nob and his regular feather skin, with his nails and actually scraped himself. Like bad. He started bleeding and I put ointment on it but he is still picking at it :( I think the solution is to cut his nails, anyone have other advice? Can I cut his nails like ppl do with dogs? I'll post a pic as soon as possible

Have you looked for parasites? usually when they scratch that bad something must be wrong. I don't think you can trim nails on water fowl because their quick is right at the tip.You could look and see where the quick is if the nails are clear, but when they cut a nail or break one they bleed alot. Posting a pic would be good. Put some ACV into the bucket he drinks out of 1-2 Tab to 1 gal of water it will help to heal.

here it is today. It seems alittle better, i put a disinfectant spray from tsc and it seems better. i didnt see parasites, but just in case i still gave him the acv with water. Also i put disinfectant ointment on him as well

Not as much, but it seems to help alot :) yea he wanted a treat for a picture lol

He is doing well, I'm still applying the ointment and its getting better.

Doing better, her puffy eyes went away the same day it came. She is back to her old self, but I'm keeping an extra eye on her and her mate
